Job Description Job Description The Logistics Coordinator plays a critical role in our client's transportation company by monitoring weather conditions and ensuring the safe and efficient movement of goods. Key Responsibilities: Monitor weather forecasts and conditions affecting transportation routes and destinations. Assess potential risks and impacts of adverse weather on transportation operations. Communicate weather-related information to drivers, dispatchers, and other relevant personnel. Coordinate with drivers to adjust routes or schedules as necessary to avoid hazardous weather conditions. Provide guidance and support to drivers navigating through challenging weather conditions. Maintain accurate records of weather-related incidents and their impact on transportation operations. Requirements: Must have flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey weather alerts. Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. This is working with a large, reputable transportation company and is 100% onsite in Chattanooga. They have their own weather department that is managed by a meteorologist. This is a seasonal position that will last through the end of April and the goal of the department is to keep their drivers on the road safe from hazardous weather. Must have flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex weather information to non-experts. Analytical mindset with the ability to assess risks and make data-driven decisions. Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
