Job Description:
Job Description: To develop in every student theskills of
critical thinking and to help students learn technical
Spanishtranslation and interpretation in order for that student to
become a positivemember of the community. Essential Job
Functions:
Simultaneous and consecutive interpretation
Legal and or medical translation
Translation---theory and ethics
Terminology management
Cultural competency in translation
Cross-cultural communication Teach practical translation and
interpretation skills through simulations, role-playing, and
real-world case studies Assess student performance through written
exams, oral presentations, and practical translation/interpretation
exercises Provide individual feedback to students on their
translation and interpretation skills Create a syllabus that meets
the Provost's Syllabus Checklist requirements. Create assessment
activities that support the stated learning outcomes for the
course. Support and follow University policies and procedures as
well as those for the department. Submit grades and materials for
assessment projects on or before stated deadlines. Address student
questions in a timely and helpful manner. Prepare meaningful
lectures and class activities for the full duration of the
published class time for each class period according to academic
calendar. Use Canvas and other technology to enhance student
learning Communicate student concerns with personnel in the
department. Maintain student and course records with updates on the
learning management system.Maintain and file current course
outlines, objectives and grading procedures for all courses.Exhibit
innovative and adaptive instructional methods.Completes all
mandatory training.Fulfill all requirements as noted in the Adjunct
Handbook.Perform other related duties as assigned. The duties
