Description Summit Medical Center is looking for a Clinical
Services Coordinator RN to join our Quality Care Team. Summit

supports nursing education, utilization review, and employee health
services activities to promote safe, effective, and high-quality
patient care. Responsible for developing and implementing staff
education programs, managing employee health processes, and
supporting utilization review functions in collaboration with
departmental leadership. Exercises independent clinical judgment in
education, employee health coordination, and patient care
activities while supporting organizational goals for quality,
safety, and regulatory compliance. The staffing of Summit Medical
Center is based on a teamwork concept. Employees may be
cross-trained in other administrative areas and may be expected to
perform duties other than their normal ones as staffing and patient
needs change. Serves on the Summit Committee of the Whole. Attend
meetings as required. Promotes a culture of safety by identifying
and reporting patient safety events and near misses and
participating in activities that improve the quality and safety of
patient care. Participates in quality improvement, patient safety,
and regulatory readiness initiatives. Serves on committees as
assigned to support organizational goals. Collaborates with
leadership, infection prevention, and interdisciplinary teams.
Maintains accurate, timely, and compliant documentation. Maintains
confidentiality of patient, employee, and organizational
information. Performs other duties as assigned. Essential Job
Duties & Responsibilities: Clinical Education Develops, implements,
and evaluates orientation, onboarding, and ongoing education
programs for clinical staff. Assesses learning needs and designs
education to support clinical competency and regulatory compliance
Plans, develops, and implements educational programs and seminars.
Coordinates and tracks mandatory education, annual competencies,
and required training. Serves as a resource for staff regarding
clinical standards, best practices, and evidence-based care.
Supports preceptors and mentors’ staff to promote professional
development. Promotes evidence-based clinical practice through
education and training. Assists with implementation of new clinical
policies, procedures, and technologies. Evaluates effectiveness of
education programs and modifies content based on outcomes.
Utilization Review Performs utilization review activities
(prospective, concurrent, retrospective) using established criteria
(e.g., MCG) Reviews medical records to support appropriate level of
care and documentation Collaborate with physicians and leadership
regarding patient status and care coordination and to address
documentation needs and level-of-care determinations prior to or
during patient encounters Identifies utilization concerns and
escalates to leadership as appropriate. Assists with denial
management and appeals through clinical documentation review.
Proactively reviews upcoming schedules to identify cases with
potential inpatient status, authorization needs, or medical
necessity considerations. Assists with peer-to-peer review
preparation and coordination, including gathering clinical
documentation and supporting information for payer discussions.
Monitors and analyzes utilization review trends, payer
requirements, and denial patterns to support process improvement
and regulatory compliance. Maintains current knowledge of pay
guidelines, authorization requirements, and utilization review best
practices. Employee Health Perform pre-employment health
assessments and obtain immunization records or administers needed
immunizations to be compliant with state regulations on all
pre-employment health screening required. Maintains employee health
records by continually updating throughout the year as required.
Manages day-to-day operations of the Employee Health Program,
including compliance tracking, reporting, and record maintenance.
Administers required employee vaccinations and immunizations in
accordance with organizational policy and regulatory guidelines.
Coordinates laboratory testing for employees, including
pre-employment, post-exposure, and ongoing surveillance testing as
indicated. Maintains accurate employee health records and ensures
timely follow-up on exposures, illnesses, and injuries. Assists in
the identification, evaluation, and initial management of employee
work-related injuries and exposures. Collaborates with leadership
and safety personnel to ensure appropriate documentation and
follow-up for employee incidents. Monitors and trends employee
injuries and exposures to identify opportunities for prevention and
workplace safety improvement. Performs respirator fit testing in
accordance with OSHA standards and maintains required documentation
and compliance tracking. Ensures compliance with OSHA, infection
prevention, and regulatory standards. SMC offers a competitive

Qualifications: Bachelor of Science, Nursing Sufficient previous
experience in clinical health care Must be alert, honest, and of
good character Minimum 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience
Experience in education, employee health, case management, or
utilization review preferred Demonstrated ability to teach, coach,
and evaluate clinical staff Special Skills and Knowledge :
Demonstrates experience with and skilled use of: Organization and
planning, managing multiple demands, and achieving results. Word
processing, spreadsheets, and database software. Team development
and facilitation techniques applied to quality improvement or
project teams to achieve their highest potential. Written and oral
communication skills with particular emphasis on presentation
skills. Strong teaching and presentation skills and knowledge of
adult learning principles. Proficiency with learning management
systems and electronic health records. Essential Functions: Ability
