Position Overview The Medical Technologist / Medical Laboratory Technician (MT/MLT) is responsible for performing a wide range of laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures that help physicians detect, diagnose, and monitor medical conditions. This role plays a vital part in patient care by analyzing blood, tissue, and other bodily specimens using advanced laboratory equipment and established testing methodologies to ensure accurate and timely results. Working closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, the Medical Technologist / Medical Laboratory Technician processes and evaluates patient specimens, performs routine and specialized laboratory testing, and ensures the reliability and accuracy of test results. The technologist follows strict laboratory protocols and quality control procedures while maintaining compliance with regulatory and safety standards. The Medical Technologist / Medical Laboratory Technician also maintains detailed documentation in the laboratory information system, prepares and calibrates laboratory instruments, and assists with troubleshooting equipment or testing issues as needed. Through strong attention to detail, technical expertise, and a commitment to quality patient care, this role supports timely diagnoses and effective treatment decisions while helping maintain a safe, efficient, and high-performing laboratory environment.
