Job Description Job Description Job Title: Critical Care Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN) Position Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma Campus: Acute Care Hospital Setting Shift: Night Shift | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM Schedule: 3×12-hour shifts (36 hours/week) Job Summary The Critical Care Float Pool Registered Nurse provides high-quality nursing care across multiple critical care and progressive care units. This role utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care while ensuring compliance with hospital standards, unit policies, and professional practice guidelines. The RN functions with a high level of independence and clinical judgment while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to support optimal patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities Patient Care & Clinical Practice Utilize the nursing process to provide comprehensive patient care Assess, organize, and deliver care considering patient age, cultural, and psychosocial factors Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately using appropriate medical terminology Monitor patient progress and address clinical problems to achieve care goals Facilitate patient discharge through education, referrals, and care coordination Provide care across critical care, PCU, and other assigned units as part of the float pool Collaboration & Communication Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members Coordinate patient care activities without direct supervisory responsibilities Communicate effectively with patients, families, internal teams, and external partners Support hospital and unit goals through participation in performance improvement initiatives Professional Practice Maintain clinical competency through required education and training Attend in-services and complete unit education requirements Complete variance reports and contribute to quality and safety initiatives Decision-Making & Accountability Exercise independent clinical judgment in complex patient care situations Make decisions from multiple alternatives with general review at final stages Provide leadership and guidance to peers performing similar work Required Qualifications Education Graduate of an approved school of nursing with a diploma or degree Licensure Active Oklahoma RN license or valid multistate RN license Experience Minimum 1 year of Critical Care RN experience required Strong PCU experience highly preferred Candidates with solid Med-Surg experience may be considered Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of disease management processes and clinical pathways Strong understanding of the bio-psychosocial model of care Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Ability to prioritize and organize work in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail when reviewing clinical and numerical data Additional Information This role description outlines the essential functions and responsibilities of the position.
