Job Description Job Description Job Summary The Licensed
Respiratory Therapist is responsible for assessing, implementing,
and evaluating respiratory care services in accordance with
established clinical standards and departmental policies. This role
supports patient monitoring, treatment, and therapeutic
interventions across critical and non-critical care environments
while ensuring high-quality patient outcomes and safety. Key
Responsibilities Assess and deliver respiratory care services based
on physician orders and patient needs. Administer respiratory
medications using nebulizers, metered dose inhalers, and aerosol
therapies. Provide oxygen therapy, medical gas administration,
humidity therapy, and incentive spirometry treatments. Perform
chest physiotherapy, pulmonary function monitoring, and respiratory
mechanics evaluation. Operate and manage mechanical ventilation
(invasive and non-invasive) while monitoring patient response.
Assist with intubation, extubation, suctioning, and bronchoscopy
procedures. Monitor oxygen saturation using pulse oximetry and
evaluate respiratory status. Maintain ventilator equipment, adjust
settings, and ensure optimal patient support. Respond promptly to
emergency situations including Code Blue and rapid response calls.
Accurately document patient care, physician orders, and treatment
outcomes in electronic medical records. Collaborate with
interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure coordinated patient
care. Provide education and support to patients and families
regarding respiratory treatments. Assist in training and mentoring
new staff members. Participate in departmental quality improvement
initiatives and continuing education programs. Maintain compliance
with safety, infection control, and hospital policies. Required
Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of respiratory therapy
procedures and patient monitoring techniques. Ability to operate
respiratory care equipment and mechanical ventilators. Excellent
communication, teamwork, and patient care skills. Strong attention
to detail and ability to interpret clinical and numerical data.
Basic computer skills for documentation and data entry. Ability to
adapt to fast-paced clinical environments and changing patient
conditions. Education & Certification Requirements Graduate of an
accredited Respiratory Care program. Valid Respiratory Care
Practitioner (RCP) license or provisional authorization to
practice. Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist (CRT or
RRT) credential through NBRC. Basic Life Support (BLS)
certification required. Experience Requirements Entry-level
candidates with 0–6 months of related experience are encouraged to
apply. Clinical training or internship experience in respiratory
