Registered Nurse (RN) | Correctional Location: Watonga, OK Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,966 per week Shift Information: 3 days Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 3/9/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Registered Nurse Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days or Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours/week guaranteed Experience: Minimum of one year of professional nursing experience preferred License: Current nursing licensure in the state of employment Certifications: Valid driver's license required Must-Have: - Nursing care - Medication administration - Emergency procedures Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) plans and provides comprehensive nursing care. This includes executing Licensed Independent Provider orders. Dispensing and administering medications is required. Assisting Licensed Independent Providers in examinations and treatment of patients is essential. Applies nursing and supervisory techniques in the care and treatment of inmates/residents. Performs all technical and clinical procedures within the scope of education and licensure. Applies appropriate nursing skills in the care and treatment of inmates/residents. Attends sick call with the physician to see inmates/residents. Prepares a list of inmates/residents to be examined. Prepares examining rooms and equipment. Operates pill call and dispenses medication, documenting as required by policies and procedures. Calls Licensed Independent Providers for medication and treatment orders. Examines and assesses new inmates/residents with illnesses or injuries. Refers inmates/residents to emergency rooms or other appropriate healthcare facilities as required. Performs emergency procedures and notifies Licensed Independent Providers for treatment orders. Assists in coordinating professional medical services provided by contract personnel. Schedules all activities based on medical needs. Monitors inmate/resident hospitalizations for early releases whenever appropriate. Provides guidance, supervision, and monitors nursing care provided by other nursing staff. Maintains good working relationships with facility staff and contract providers. Utilizes established policies and procedures in making decisions. Regularly evaluates the provision of medical services. Maintains absolute security and confidentiality of all medical records. Assists with the review of medical files for service documentation. Monitors potential catastrophic illnesses closely. Audits pharmacy use for adherence to formulary as required. Complies with all applicable pharmacy laws. Observes and records inmate/resident behavior. Inspects the medical unit for items that may be used as contraband. Provides health counseling and health education on an individual or group basis. Assists in preparing and maintaining various standard documents and reports. Reads, analyzes, and interprets medical and technical procedures. Reviews lawsuits and may attend court hearings if necessary. Evaluates and recommends physical safety requirements for a safe working environment. Facilitates accreditation of the medical program by providing approved medical services. Prepares and disseminates safety reports as required by policies. Takes appropriate action in cases of serious incidents and emergencies. Escorts inmates/residents or coordinates their movement for medical treatment. Performs searches of individuals and objects for potential contraband. Engages in functions in confined areas, including working rotating shifts. Takes appropriate action to prevent or diffuse potentially disruptive situations. Performs rescue functions during accidents, emergencies, and disasters. Administers basic emergency medical aid as needed. Secures and evacuates people from confined areas.
