Registered Nurse (RN) | Operating Room Location: Oklahoma City, OK Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,248 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified OR RN in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, 73104! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Surgical Specialty Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 36.00 Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience required License: Current RN License issued by the state nursing board or a current multistate compact RN License Certifications: Current Basic Life Support certification issued by the American Heart Association Must-Have: Travel experience, step down experience, acute care surgical floor experience Description: Under general supervision, provides nursing care in a hospital to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex. Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients. Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments. Notes all changes in physician orders for assigned patients. Assists physician in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatment. Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients. Observes the physiological manifestations of patients and intervenes when necessary. Administers medication as prescribed. Initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products. Delivers patient care competently. Interacts with family and patients in sharing care plans during the hospital stay and at the time of discharge. Informs patients and families of hospital procedures. Makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel. Delegates tasks to support staff. Performs other duties as assigned. Candidates must have experience caring for patients post-operatively. Experience with patients who have new drains, wounds, trachs, ostomies, and NGT or DHT is required. Some patients may require step down care. Patient ratios are 5 or 6:1 for surgical patients and 3 or 4:1 for step down area. Candidates should have knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures. Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services. Ability to maintain good working relationships with other employees. Good verbal and written communication skills are essential. Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors. Some computer skills are required. Education required is an Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
