Phlebotomist/Laboratory Aide I - 17814*Ada, OK - Health - Full Time**7:00AM-4:00PM - Mo Tu We Th Fr*_Posted 8 days ago - - Apply before May 7, 2025_*Apply**Save*DescriptionWe are currently looking for a Full Time Phlebotomist/Laboratory Aide I to join our Laboratory Phlebotomy Unit team located at the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center working 7:00AM-4:00PM - Mo Tu We Th Fr.*Summary:*Provides phlebotomy services, non-technical and semi-technical services in the clinical laboratory.*Responsibilities:** Obtains adequate and proper specimens from patients for laboratory testing* Instructs patients on proper test collection and preparation* Follows appropriate guidelines based on the age and condition of the patient in collecting specimens for testing* Treats all patients and family with care and respect and maintain a cooperative attitude with fellow employees to facilitate quality patient care* Orders and accession laboratory tests through the laboratory information system and assist other personnel with laboratory test orders* Complies with all safety and infection control policies and procedures* Assists the Laboratory Clerk/Medical Technologist with non-technical tasks and clerical duties* Manages and orders office inventory, equipment, uniforms and/or other operational supplies* Provides first class customer service - courteous and helpful to all internal and external customer types* Answers questions in a courteous and professional manner* Partners with internal and external services as needed to ensure appropriate referral is made* Greets and engages with a smile* Determines needs, seeks positive experience and outcomes* Completes all training and development requirements and participates in continuing education opportunities* Works in a collaborative and supportive manner to support the productivity and safety of the work area, team members and customers of all types* Maintains general upkeep of work area and maintains a safe environment* Maintains and promotes professionalism* Punctual and consistent in meeting start time, work schedule, attendance and other assigned work time metrics* Adheres to Chickasaw Nation dress code standards* Maintains knowledge of and follows all laws, rules, regulations, policies and SOPs for assigned area, e.g. MICS, TICS, hospital standards, health codes, food sanitation, accounting principles, etc.* Performs all other duties as assigned*Competencies:*Essential:* Able to follow instructions, both written and oral* Ensures compliance* Able to adhere to all scheduling and attendance requirements* Maintains strict confidentiality in all matters* Must be detail-oriented* Ability to work independently* Honesty, truthfulness, reliability, accountability* Able to read, understand, apply, and retain knowledge of Chickasaw Nation, departmental, divisional and all other rules, regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines* Understand Native American culture and tribal programs* Possess basic knowledge of medical terminology* Ability to multitask* Works well within a team* Able to verbally communicate in a professional and positive manner with other team members, departments, guests and management* Writes effective communications with team, departments, guests and management* Keeps written records* Maintains clear and complete employee health records*Skills:**Experience:*Essential:* No prior experience required*Education:*Essential:* High School, GED or Equivalent*Credentials:*Essential:* Pass general background check* Standard Driver's License* Phlebotomy Technician Certification*Working Conditions:*Essential:* Works in a hospital or clinic environment* Potential exposure to biohazards* Potential exposure to contagious diseases* May be required to assist individuals who are hostile, agitated or under the influence* Face shield* Gloves* Frequently bend, kneel, stoop, push, reach* Use computer up to 50% of shift* Hand-eye coordination, reach and grasp* Sometimes lift and or carry up to 25 lbs* Sitting up to 50% of shift* Standing up to 75% of shift* Walking up to 50% of shift* May work day shift* May work evening shift* May work holidays* May work night shift* May work rotating shifts* May work weekend shift* Pass pre-employment drug test#INDWork Location: In personby Jobble
