exciting opportunity for a Construction & Maintenance Technician I
based in Chickasha, Oklahoma! POSITION SUMMARY Performs company
field operations including manual labor and other duties necessary
to accomplish the installation, repair, construction, and
maintenance of natural gas distribution systems. Must be able to
maintain a valid Driver’s License and all applicable endorsements.
This position is subject to random DOT drug and alcohol testing.
Must maintain all necessary Operator Qualifications (OQ) applicable
for the position. Position requires employees to be on call after
normal business hours for emergency response activities. PRIMARY
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Installs, repairs, or replaces steel
and plastic pipe. Provides First Responder assistance in emergency
situations. Locates gas lines. Loads and unloads required
equipment, tools, and supplies onto and from truck. Performs other
duties as assigned. EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE Requires a high
school diploma or the equivalent knowledge of English, mathematics
(addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and
percentages), punctuation, grammar, and spelling. Requires no prior
work experience. Class A CDL and Arc Welding experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES Able to pass written portion of
commercial driver’s license (CDL) test within 12 months and attain
complete CDL within 24 months. Able to obtain company plastic
fusion certification within 12 months and company Arc welding
certification within 24 months. Able to learn to operate heavy
equipment such as backhoe, trencher and a two-ton or larger truck.
Able to use the proper tools for any given job. Able to assist with
Plugging and Tapping procedures. Able to assist in preparation of
pipe for welding. Able to learn to use a Personal Computer, SAP,
and Mobile Data. Able to demonstrate an aptitude for basic
mechanical tasks. Able to respond well to changing priorities. Able
to solve problems with logical solutions. Able to demonstrate and
utilize effective oral and written communications skills. Able to
listen effectively and clarify information as needed. Able to
respond to customers with courtesy and knowledge. Able to
participate successfully in team environment to accomplish
assignments. Able to demonstrate commitment to compliance with
applicable laws and regulations, the Company’s Ethics and
Compliance Code of Conduct, and other Company policies and
procedures and do so consistently, take all required training
courses and do so timely. Able to demonstrate respect for all
individuals, adhere to the Company’s values and business practices
and do both consistently. Nice to have experience includes: Welding
Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Heavy equipment operator Field
services/operations The position is covered under the D.O.T.
regulations and Summit Utilities Drug and Alcohol Policy and is,
