Project Manager plays a critical role in supporting the successful
delivery of commercial construction projects from inception through
completion. This position involves coordinating with various
stakeholders including contractors, architects, and clients to
ensure project milestones are met on time and within budget. The
Assistant Project Manager will assist in managing change orders,
reviewing construction and shop drawings, and maintaining accurate
construction schedules. They will also contribute to site
development oversight and cost estimation to optimize resource
allocation and project efficiency. Ultimately, this role ensures
that construction administration processes are executed smoothly,
facilitating high-quality project outcomes and client satisfaction.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Construction
Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction project management
or a related role. Proficiency in interpreting construction
drawings and shop drawings. Experience with construction scheduling
software and cost estimation tools. Strong understanding of
construction administration processes and site development
practices. Preferred Qualifications: Certification such as
Associate Constructor (AC) or Project Management Professional
(PMP). Experience working on commercial construction projects.
Familiarity with change order management software and construction
management platforms. Knowledge of local building codes and
regulations within the United States. Excellent communication and
negotiation skills to effectively manage stakeholder relationships.
Responsibilities: Assist in the preparation, review, and management
of change orders to address project modifications. Coordinate and
review construction drawings and shop drawings to ensure compliance
with project specifications. Support the development and
maintenance of detailed construction schedules to track project
progress. Collaborate with site development teams to monitor
construction activities and resolve on-site issues. Prepare and
update cost estimates to support budgeting and financial tracking
throughout the project lifecycle. Facilitate construction
administration tasks including documentation, communication, and
compliance monitoring. Liaise with contractors, vendors, and
clients to ensure clear communication and timely resolution of
project concerns. Assist in risk management by identifying
potential project delays or cost overruns and proposing mitigation
strategies. Skills: The Assistant Project Manager utilizes their
expertise in change orders and construction management daily to
adapt project plans and maintain alignment with client
expectations. Proficiency in reading and analyzing construction and
shop drawings ensures that all project components meet design and
regulatory standards. Managing construction schedules requires
strong organizational skills to coordinate multiple tasks and
deadlines effectively. Cost estimation skills are applied to
forecast project expenses accurately and support budget adherence.
Additionally, construction administration skills facilitate
seamless communication and documentation, ensuring that all project
activities comply with contractual and legal requirements.
